Gentics CMP 8.4
CMP 8.4 delivers major platform updates including Angular v20, Mesh Client 3.2.0, and full Elasticsearch 9 support with improved stateless search_after indexing. It introduces Partial Multichannelling for flexible page localization, aligns the Helm chart versioning with CMS releases, and adds new Helm configuration options for Mesh. Core components were upgraded (Vert.x 5.0.5, Hibernate 7.1.8), documentation was streamlined, and overall search and infrastructure capabilities were modernized.

CMP 8.3 focuses on stability and technical modernization with a strong emphasis on dependency updates across the platform. Gentics CMS was migrated to Jakarta EE 10, replacing legacy components and removing outdated libraries. Authentication was improved with enhanced Keycloak SSO integration, including better user-to-group mapping and updated configuration handling for SSO settings. Gentics Mesh, commercial plugins, and both Portal variants received broad framework and security upgrades, improving compatibility, maintainability, and long-term support.

CMP 8.2 introduces significant functional enhancements across CMS and related components. Editors benefit from improved publishing transparency with offline timestamps, new publish state endpoints, and a publish protocol in the UI. Content Packages can be validated in the background with detailed error reporting, while forms support rich content fields and assets allow custom create/edit dates. Automatic Translation was added with dedicated APIs. A key highlight is the new Handlebars part type, enabling dynamic, logic-based templating directly within the CMS. Elasticsearch was updated to require version 8 with enhanced security configuration options.

CMP 8.1 delivers major UI and platform enhancements across CMS and Mesh. The Editor UI edit mode was fully integrated and overhauled, while the Mesh Browser and Mesh Content Repository management were added to the Admin UI. Devtool packages can now be checked for completeness, and environment variable configuration was expanded. WebP support and improved image variant handling were introduced. The platform was upgraded to Java 17, alongside HTTP/2 support, enhanced security indexing controls, API improvements, and broad dependency updates.

CMP 8.0 is a major architectural release, replacing the previous hybrid Apache/PHP and Tomcat setup with a single executable JAR running an embedded HTTP server. Numerous REST API endpoints were enhanced with improved embed options, filtering, sorting, and new admin capabilities such as batch dirt queue cleanup. Devtools synchronization was improved to better resolve missing references, and new asynchronous export/download endpoints were added for forms and binaries. Publishing to Mesh was optimized for fewer requests and reduced memory usage.
