Relaunch of the Austrian Labour Inspectorate’s website on the Gentics Content Management Platform

On March 18, 2020, the new design of “arbeitsinspektion.gv.at” was successfully relaunched on the basis of the Gentics Content Management Platform (CMP).

The Labour Inspectorate is Austria’s largest statutory organisation fighting work-related deficits regarding safety and health. It acts on uniform principles, is independent of special interests and checks compliance with the guidelines on occupational safety at companies and construction sites. In online matters, the Labour Inspectorate is the central point of contact for employers as well as employees and provides comprehensive references on legal requirements.

In addition to the overall concept, the project’s requirements profile particularly focused on a location search. Moreover, a separate area was set up where particularly important information can easily be created and edited on a dedicated page in the Gentics CMS. This allows to provide content in English.

“Our collaboration with Gentics was extraordinary right from the start. The high level of flexibility of the entire Gentics team particularly convinced us during conception and finalisation”, says Mag. Andreas Schmid, project manager for Section IV, Labour Law and Central Labour Inspectorate.
Flexible adaptations

Flexible adaptations

More than ten editors provide content for the online platform of the Labour Inspectorate. With so many people involved, work has to be well divided. Each colour-coded area of the website has a dedicated person who is responsible for it. The users particularly benefit from the “Favourites” functionality of Gentics CMS: The editors can set shortlinks to their respective areas and access the relevant pages with just a few clicks.

New Design

Based on the requirements of the federal design, a new design concept was created and implemented in collaboration with Corporate Matters. We are particularly proud of the new colour coding system where each area has a specific colour which reappears in the presentation of the individual content pages.

Another aspect to be highlighted is the large menu fly-out which can be customised to individual needs by the administrators of the Labour Inspectorate. With regard to all options of the second level of navigation in the fly-out menu, the administrators can flexibly decide whether – and if yes, which page will be displayed for the website’s visitors.
