Vienna (OTS) - In its endeavour to promote the transition to e-government, the Swiss federal administration plans to comprehensively digitise all work processes within public administration. Following the procurement procedure, the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) has commissioned the Vienna-based software company RUBICON with the implementation of an extensive digitisation effort. The entire order amounts to 39 million Swiss francs (approx. 35 million euros), and the project will be launched in 2019.
This new digitisation project will establish the Swiss department DETEC as a modern public authority. All processes and business areas will be continuously digitised, and media ruptures will be avoided. As a result, internal processes will be optimised and access to services will become easier for citizens, business partners and cantons. One of RUBICON’s partners in this project is the Austrian portal specialist APA-IT who will implement the front-end to the citizens. “In this project, Austrian and Swiss experts are pooling their know-how to develop innovative and citizen-oriented solutions”, says Peter Grassnigg, Managing Director of RUBICON. “DETEC’s products and services will become much more accessible and standardised, and it will be possible to implement them in a much shorter time and with higher flexibility.”
The scope of this project is clearly demonstrated by the large number of federal authorities which belong to the DETEC department, for example the Federal Office for the Environment, the Federal Office of Communication and many more. This important project is not the first one which RUBICON has been commissioned with in Switzerland: The Swiss federal administration as well as many Swiss communities are already using RUBICON’s standard product “Acta Nova” for the centralised processing of files. RUBICON is also developing “easyfind”, Switzerland’s electronic lost & found service.
